Just a short journey from Edinburgh, North Berwick is one of Scotland's most charming coastal towns. With colourful harbour views, sandy beaches, independent cafés and relaxed seaside hotels, it's easy to see why it has become a favourite destination for a coastal staycation in the UK.
We recently spent the day here for our latest photoshoot, exploring some of the town's best-loved spots while capturing the easy-going atmosphere that makes North Berwick so special.
Our first stop was North Berwick Harbour. Colourful beach huts, fishing boats and views across the water made it an easy choice for the day's shoot. It's one of the town's most recognisable spots and a great place to start if you're visiting North Berwick for the first time.
Between locations, we made time for a visit to a local ice cream van. It's a simple stop, but one that feels essential on any coastal day out.
Overlooking the coast,
Marine & Lawn combines sea views with thoughtfully designed interiors.
Whether you're planning a weekend away or a longer stay, it makes an ideal base for exploring the town and surrounding coastline.
Set just above the shoreline,
Marine and Lawn offers a calm vantage point over the town and sea. Interiors feel considered yet effortless, with soft tones and clean details that echo the landscape outside.
It is an easy place to return to after a day along the coast. The atmosphere remains relaxed, quietly connected to the rhythm of North Berwick.
No visit to North Berwick is complete without a stop at
Bostock Bakery. Known for its artisan pastries and coffee, it's a popular spot with both locals and visitors.
From the harbour and beach to independent cafés and coastal hotels, North Berwick offers everything needed for a relaxed Scottish seaside escape.
Whether you're visiting for the day or planning a weekend staycation, it's a town that's easy to return to again and again.
